About
Created under § 2-504.1 of the Agriculture Article, Annotated Code of Maryland. Additionally, outlined in Allegany County Code, Chapter 9. Each jurisdiction is mandated by the State to appoint 5 members, at least three of whom shall be owner–operators of commercial farms who earn 50 percent or more of their income from farming. Each member appointed by County Commissioners for a Five- year term, not serving more than 2 consecutive full terms.
