Amcelle and Boone Street Water Shut-Off for Cresaptown Water Project
The Allegany County Department of Public Works Utilities Division will be installing a new water main line in the Cresaptown Water District. This is part of the continuing effort to improve the water system here. It will be necessary to shut-off water during the project. The water service will be restored at the end of each work day.
This work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 18, at approximately 9:00 a.m., expected to take eight working days, and to conclude at the end of the work day on Friday, October 27. Water will be shut-off for up to six hours and may extend multiple days for some residences. Field personnel will make every effort to notify residents in advance of the shut-offs. However, if an emergency arises, this will not be possible. Vehicles will have Allegany County Department of Public Works Utilities Division identification.
This project will disrupt entry/exit and parking in the area. Utilities Division personnel will close the road from Boone Street to the north end of Amcelle Street from 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on work days for the duration of the project.
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and emergency personnel as required by law.
