[ARCHIVED] Cresaptown Water District Project Wednesday, October 18 – Friday, October 27

CountySeal

In our continuing efforts to improve the water system in our Cresaptown Water District we will be starting a project in the Amcelle St and Boone St area this week. Our plans are to install a new main line from the intersection of Boone/Amcelle St to the north end of Amcelle. In the process of doing these projects there will days that the water service will be shut down to that area as we replace/install new valves and lines. The first shut-down will be Wednesday Oct. 18th at approximately 9 am.  The shut downs could involve up to 6 hours in some cases and may be multiple days. In no situation will the service be off longer than our work day as we will restore service in some manner at the end of each day. If you are in a situation where you absolutely need water for medical reasons please notify this office and we will try to accommodate your needs in some manner.  The project will also disrupt access/egress and parking to the area at the north end of Amcelle St from the hours of 6am- 3pm for the duration of the project. The ACUD personnel will be closing the road from Boone St to the north end of Amcelle St each day and reopen it at the end of the day for entry/exit to the affected homes and will maintain access for emergency personnel as required by law. Our hope is to be in out of the area in 8 working days. The field personnel will do it’s best to make sure the homeowners are notified in advance of the shut-downs, however there may be times when it is necessary to do so on an emergency need. We do apologize for this disruption and will do everything possible to alleviate any problems from this. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these necessary repairs. If there are questions concerning this matter please call the Utilities Division at (301)729-3311, Monday thru Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
