Public Hearing Notice - Allegany County Solid Waste Management Plan Revision
Mountainview Landfill, Inc. has submitted a Refuse Disposal Permit Application to the Maryland Department of the Environment for a lateral expansion of the existing landfill. The facility will accept residential and commercial waste. The proposed site location of the facility is 13300 New Georges Creek Road, Frostburg, MD 21532. It is expected to be operational within 18-24 months. Pursuant to Section 9-503 of the Environmental Article and COMAR 26.03.03.05C, Allegany County is required to revise the 2021-2031 Solid Waste Management Plan to include the increased footprint of the Mountainview Landfill facility in order for permitting to be approved.
Allegany County along with Mountainview Landfill, Inc. will conduct a Public Hearing, to review and receive comments on the revision to the Allegany County Solid Waste Management Plan 2021-2031. The hearing will take place Tuesday, July 8, 2024 at 5:00 PM, in Room 100 of the County Office Complex, 701 Kelley Road, Cumberland, Maryland.
