[ARCHIVED] Canvass Notice & Public Demonstration

In accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations Title 33.10.01.16, please be advised that a public demonstration will take place illustrating how the Pre-Election Logic & Accuracy Test of the EVS Voting Solution has been conducted.  Anyone attending this public demonstration will be afforded an opportunity to observe the printouts of the test results on any of the EVS Voting Equipment to be used in the Presidential General Election on November 3, 2020.  

This public demonstration will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 9:00 AM at the County Office Complex, 701 Kelly Road, Room 230, Cumberland, Maryland.      

The Allegany County Board of Elections will conduct canvassing of ballots for the Presidential General Election beginning on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 9:00 AM.  At this time, the Allegany County Office Complex is open to the public, so we will allow in-person viewing of the canvass.  Social distancing and face coverings will be required.  In the event that the building is closed due to an increase of COVID 19 cases, livestreaming will be made available on our website.  

The canvass will be conducted in two different rooms in order to follow the guidelines for social distancing.  The opening/reviewing and duplicating will be held at the Allegany County Office Complex, 701 Kelly Road, Room 100, Cumberland.  The scanning of the ballots will be held in the Allegany County Board of Election Warehouse, 701 Kelly Road, Building 74, Cumberland.  The schedule for canvassing will be posted on the website at https://alleganygov.org/158/Election-Office.  Please note that the schedule and room numbers are subject to change at any time. 

The Allegany County Board of Elections announces that at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 the Board of Canvassers for the County will begin processing the Early Voting votes cast in the November 3, 2020 General Election.   Totals will not be released until after the polls close.  Observers must sign a confidentiality agreement.  

On Thursday, November 12, 2020, beginning at 10 AM, the Board of Canvassers will begin the process of opening, reviewing, and counting the provisional ballots cast in the 2020 General Election.  If continuations are necessary, the Board of Canvassers will announce its schedule at the end of the day, and if necessary, at the end of each subsequent day.  

On Friday, November 13, 2020, beginning at 10 AM the final tabulation will be conducted and the Allegany County 2020 Presidential General Election will be officially certified by the local Board of Canvassers.
